Conclave Film Review

Conclave was an emotional roller-coaster throughout its runtime. The narrative of the film had roped me in and kept me on the edge of my seat; I was excited to see what would happen next and how things would turn out. Not to mention the amazing cinematography and soundtrack, which only complimented the rest of the film. The non-diegetic sound helped set the mood while the cinematography/camera work visualised the fear, danger and suspense of it all, taking the tense atmosphere and blasting it to the audience. The characters were quite likeable as well; we as the audience root for Lawrence as we find out more about his motives and as he finds out more about the underlying secrets behind the Cardinals at the conclave. At times I felt sad, other times I felt adrenaline. All in all, Conclave is a great and enjoyable film that uses multiple elements to create an experience that was an excellent addition to the political thriller genre.
